Fibbar Magee’s – If you’re in a dancing mood, swing by Fibbar MaGee’s. Before embarrassing yourself on the dance floor, get some liquid courage in you with their large selection of whiskeys (half price on Wednesdays) and rotating beers. The food is pretty good too, according to Yelp reviews.

TL Beer Garden – The TL has a good selection of beers and the service is known to be super friendly. The fire pits will keep you warm, and the dog friendly patio will keep your pup happy while you are both away at the bar for the night, a win-win.

Bogart’s Sports Pub – If the name didn’t clue you in, this is a bar with pool tables and such. They do free pool on Sunday afternoons, so it could be your spot to watch some NFL football. The selection of food is limited, but the selection of liquor and beer is vast. This place has character, and an appeal that you will have to see in person.

Beefy’s Cabin – It would be doing this place a disservice to call it a dive bar, so we’ll use words like “local”. This neighborhood bar is popular for being homely with excellent service. It is discreetly located and that helps keep the riff raff away. As you might expect, the drinks are cheap and good and games are plentiful and usually free. They are cash only and don’t serve food, although there is an Indian joint right next door.

Lily Mac’s Irish Bar and Restaurant – Lily Mac’s sets itself apart a little bit by having live music often. Other than that, the food and drink are right on par for what you would expect out of an Irish pub.

The Local 102 Lounge – A dive bar that is popular amongst Sunnyvale locals. Enjoy some karaoke on Thursdays, trivia on Wednesdays, or simply play some darts and enjoy one of their 8 craft drafts any other night.

Murphy’s Law Irish Pub & Sports Bar – Yes, another Irish pub. Apparently, the Irish like to drink. If you’re anything like me (a sucker for all live music) then Murphy’s should be added to your rotation to check out some local bands in action. Yell “Free Bird!!” during the set and everyone will think you’re hilarious. Actually, don’t do that.

Pure Lounge – Purely a dance club that is only open on the weekends, Pure Lounge is the spot to get your groove on. The actual interior is very classy, and you might feel a bit underdressed no matter what you are wearing. They have some great, well-known DJs. The drinks are a bit on the pricey side, so it may be wise to hit up another spot to get your buzz on prior; which shouldn’t be too hard considering they don’t open until 10pm.
